Garage Door Won't Close

If your garage door won't close, the cause is often simple. Dirty or misaligned safety sensors, a jammed track or a failing opener can all stop a door.

Check that nothing blocks the sensors near the floor, and wipe their lenses. Look for obvious obstructions in the tracks. Do not force the door.

If it still won't close, or you see a broken spring, frayed cable or bent track, stop using the door and call a technician.
